What this is
The New Life Meeting is a Sexaholics Anonymous group, a Twelve Step fellowship on the pattern of Alcoholics Anonymous for people who want to stop sexually destructive thinking and behavior, including pornography. It's run by members, not professionals. It isn't therapy and doesn't replace it; many of us are also in counseling, and the two work well together. There are no dues or fees. A basket is passed for rent and coffee.
When and where
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 8, and Saturday mornings from 8 to 9, in Springfield. It is the only SA meeting in southwest Missouri and the Ozarks; members drive in from Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Branson, Bolivar, Lebanon, Joplin, and the towns between, and a first-timer from an hour away is nothing unusual. The address, the door to use, and where to park are on the Find us page, with a map link.
Who comes
Members are primarily men, and in recent years more women have been reaching out. Anyone who calls is welcome; depending on circumstances, a woman is invited or connected with women in SA who meet in person, by phone, and online every day.
Before you come
Read what happens at a first meeting, minute by minute, so there are no surprises. Then call or text 417-501-9395. A member answers. If you'd like, someone will meet you in the parking lot and walk in with you. You'll be asked for a first name and nothing else.
